Why material ships dry
Water participates in most of the reactions that degrade peptides. Freeze-drying removes it, which is why a well-dried peptide stored cold and dark lasts years where the same material in solution lasts weeks.
A dry powder also tolerates a transit excursion that a solution would not, which is what makes shipping research peptides practical at all.
A budget, not a threshold
Degradation accumulates. A parcel spending a day in transit at ambient temperature uses a small, calculable part of its stability budget. The same material left at room temperature for six months uses most of it.
Understanding it that way explains why transit is acceptable while poor storage after delivery is not.
Where the risk actually is
The largest risks are almost always after delivery — a parcel left unopened in a warm room, material stored at the wrong temperature because nobody read the label, or a reconstituted solution kept far longer than intended. Transit is short and is packed for. Storage is long and often unmanaged.
The single most useful thing a recipient does is move the material to its documented storage condition promptly.

- An outer box carrying the item, strength, batch number and printed RVL code
